Rarely in business do you strike up an emotional connection with a business acquaintance. But such has been the case with Scott Barlow at Reflexion (based in the Boston-area). Scott has integrated deep into the SMB channel partner community (I’ve seen him play poker late into the night after ASCII workshops). Of course I was only watching from afar 🙂
So it is with great pleasure I can make two announcements. Reflexion is back again as a SMB Nation Fall conference sponsors (7th annual show, Oct 2-4, Las Vegas) as an exhibitor. And equally exciting and interesting is an announcement from Reflexion on it’s partnering with Purewire. I have pasted to information below on this matter.
So at SMB Nation Fall, stop by and tell Scott HELLO!
Purewire and Reflexion Networks Join Forces to Block Malware
Partnership Brings Integrated Web and Email Security SaaS to the SMB Market through Solution Providers
ATLANTA & WOBURN, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Purewire, Inc. (www.purewire.com) and Reflexion Networks (www.reflexion.net), providers of SaaS-based security services, today announced a partnership to bring integrated Web and email security to IT solution providers serving the small-and-medium business (SMB) market. Reflexion Web Security™ is powered by Purewire™ and delivers comprehensive Web threat prevention, compliance enforcement, reporting and management to businesses.
While email and the Web are essential tools for businesses worldwide, they also are the most common entry points for malware into corporate networks. Purewire and Reflexion™ provide powerful hosted defenses against Web and email security threats in a manner that is easy to deploy and use, and tailored to the needs of solution providers who serve SMB clients.
- Reflexion distributes the Purewire Web Security Service™ through its global network of solution providers currently serving 5,000 customers in over 45 countries.
- More than 100 SMBs and 50 IT solution providers already have implemented the Reflexion Web Security service powered by Purewire.
- The companies are engaged in joint sales and marketing activities to bring solution providers and SMB customers security services that protect against email and Web threats.
- Solution providers now can turn to Reflexion for unified billing and support for email security, email archiving, eDiscovery and Web security, reducing vendor management and simplifying internal operations.
“It’s important that our users, many of whom work remotely on laptops or other mobile devices, are protected from email and Web-based attacks,” said Kevin Carlson, CTO, Telos IT. “Implementing a comprehensive, hosted security solution from Reflexion, including SaaS Web security from Purewire, allows our IT department to set security policies for all users, without sacrificing bandwidth, and extend that out to our customers.”
“Security-as-a-Service, or SaaS, is the ideal delivery model for the SMB market,” said Mike Van Bruinisse, president, CEO and co-founder of Purewire. “There’s no hardware or software to install or maintain, the service is always up-to-date automatically, and the subscription price makes for predictable price planning. The Purewire Web Security Service offers Reflexion partners an expansive suite of hosted solutions to protect their clients and grow their businesses.”
“Businesses and solution providers have come to rely on Reflexion to ensure that their networks, and those of their clients, are protected from email-borne malware,” said Scott Barlow, vice president of sales and product management at Reflexion. “By partnering with Purewire, our customers can extend that protection to the Web with the same high level of service quality and support to which they are accustomed. Together we bring enterprise-caliber solutions to the SMB market.”
Purewire’s SaaS-based Web security service inspects outbound Web traffic for safety and compliance and analyzes Web site response traffic for malicious programs and untrustworthy users. Purewire services can be deployed entirely in the cloud or in a hybrid configuration with an on-premise Web gateway. The company offers managed service providers and channel partners a white-label option for branding the Web security service. Just last week, Purewire and Proofpoint announced a partnership to deliver joint email and Web security SaaS to enterprise customers.
