Community diversity in SMB solution delivery

Yesterday on a family walk to wrap up the long Labor Day weekend, I was engaged in a discussion with my 13-year old son about rights, freedom, and choices. It was part of his social studies assignment due today at school. Fortunately it was a long walk as the discussion quickly became much deeper than score from one (1) to four (4) whether you agree or disagree with a set of simply statements (e.g. “All citizens have the same rights and freedoms”). This conversation cut to the core of free markets and a free society.

So as I was preparing today’s blog entry to announce that Google has become a silver sponsor at the SMB Nation Fall conference (Las Vegas, October 2-4, 2009), I thought back to yesterday’s conversation. I got to thinking that the SMB community has really become much more diverse over the past couple of years and there is more customer choice than ever. Whatever your technology preference, be it on-premise server, hosted services or even an old IBM selectric typewriter, you much admit that customer choice enhances the customer experience.

It’s exciting to see new conversations and rigorous debates amongs the SMB technology community. It’s both your right and freedom to participate in these conversations.

cheers…harrybbbb
