Financial Probability and the SMB Technology Consultant [SMB Consulting Best Practices book excerpt]

Hiya folks – harryb here – and I like holding virtual book readings – this is a passage on ROI!

Financial profitability

It’s all about ROI friends. Leverage up baby, as Austin Powers, the mythical movie character would say. Not to be brash or sassy, but let’s go make some money honey! Fixed price bids allow the opportunity to really recast your operations from a profitability point of view. You’re entirely motivated to cut out costs and engage in pure capitalism. Sure, these basic business rules apply to any SMB consulting style but with fixed price contracts, you’re feedback loop is much shorter and you can see how individual projects were profitable, etc. As alluded to a few paragraphs above, you’re looking for a way to leverage ahead of the time and materials crowd by winning engagements for a fixed price and then being a super human SMB consultant in successfully implementing your SMB solution for your satisfied client!

cheers….harrybbbb

  1. Good post. I agree that it’s all about ROI. That’s our selling point. We give you a clear and measurable ROI when you purchase our product, FreedomIQ.
Fixed costs are a good way of doing business and getting contracts. Can be tough on a company when the work ends up exceeding the bidding price though. Either way, a stimulating blog!
