Pride and Professionalism as a SMB technology consultant (SMB Consulting Best Practices book excerpt)

Good day mates – I am the author of the SMB Consulting Best Practices book and I like to hold virtual book readings. So here is a passage for you on professionalism!

Pride and professionalism

Part of packaging yourself is how you portray and present your sense if professionalism. Do you take great pride in your work? People pick up on these “signals” as they’re looking for the “total package” when retaining an SMB technology consultant. One avenue for sharpening your professionalism is a trade organization, the Network Professional Association (NPA) at www.npa.org. In a nutshell, the organization seeks to be the “American Bar Association” for network professionals by providing a code of conduct and professional ethics to abide by. It’s a noble effort and capped by their annual professionalism awards program seen in Figure 5-13.

Figure 5-13:

Take a look at joining the NPA and perhaps you could be an award winner in the future.
