Framing the cost of technology as part of the NEtwork Assessment (Untangle webinar)

Bill from Untangle has just surfaced a interesting paradigm in this webinar. That is framing the cost of technology in the cost per user storyline. So let’s say that technology costs $5,000 per user per year in a small business (HW, SW, amortiziation, consulting time, managed services contracts).

I contend two things.

The cost of IT has really declined over the past 20-years (PCs used to be $3K, WP was $500, Lotus was $500)……it is much less today.

I also believe you can really see the cost per user per year with Hosted Services….I know what we pay per year per user for our ERP system (NetSuite), etc. And it is of great value.

Thoughts?
