70-282 exam cram: User accounts

Howdy y’all – I am the publisher of the Microsoft Small Business Specialist Primer book and I like to hold virtual book readings – so here you go!

Computer Accounts

You can create and manage the client computers on the SBS network using the Client Computers link in the Server Management console. You can also configure application deployment and other advanced tasks from here. (Assigning Applications to client computers will be covered in Chapter 8.) The Manage Client Computers contains the Set Up Computer Wizard that will set up SBS client computers that are running Windows 2000 operating systems or later. The Set Up Computer Wizard:

·                       Creates client computer accounts.

·                       Assigns applications to client computers.

Again, we encourage you to use the SBS wizard to create and manage computer clients for the same reasons as stated above on user accounts. You could create the computer account directly in the Active Directory Users and Computers console, but again it would be placed in the general Computer container and not in the computers container located under the MyBusiness OU.
