ISA and SBS 2003 – Ch#13 Summary [Windows Small Business Server 2003 Best Practices book excerpt]

Yo! I am the author of the above title {da’ purple book} and I like to hold a daily virtual book reading. That is – I post up a passage a day and then some!

Summary

Chapters like this scare me. Not only does this chapter revisit the wild and whacky world of security first discussed in Chapter 5 of this book, but you might have entered this chapter with the expectation of reading a full book on ISA Server 2000. That’s not gonna happen with the limitations I have on page count (and when I have to present all SBS applications between the book covers, not just ISA Server 2000). However, I hope you leave this chapter knowing more about ISA Server 2000 and how it interacts with SBS 2000 than when you arrived. While I’m the first to admit a chapter on any security topic ages quickly, hopefully I’ve shared with you some foundation matters in ISA Server 2000 that will stand the test of time. And be sure to catch the page footers where you’re encouraged to learn more about products such as ISA Server 2000 by continuously monitoring http://www.microsoft.com/technet and reading the latest articles. Go do it now!
