To be or not to be an SMB Technology Consultant! [SMB Consulting Best Practices book excerpt]

Well hello there – I am the author of the above title and I like to hold a daily virtual book reading! This is accomplished by posting up a passage. Over the past few weeks, I have “set the table” outling the business planning process for you to consider when becoming a SMB technology consultant. At this stage of the process – there is a decision point: to be or not to be! Read on….

Your Decision Point

Following the advice found in this chapter and the remainder of this book to write a business plan is one thing. Actually throwing caution to the wind and launching your practice is an entirely different matter. At some point, however, you’ll need to make the decision to either go for it or decline the opportunity to launch an SMB consulting practice. Understand that, while I prefer and hope you give SMB consulting a chance, deciding that SMB consulting isn’t for you is an entirely acceptable outcome from this exercise. I’d rather have you take a hard look at SMB consulting and know with certainty whether the profession is—or is not—for you. If your only investment is the price of this book, hopefully you will consider it to be money well spent.
