Reason #20 to attend SMB Nation fall 08: Who better than Derek Brown to lay down a stunning marketing lecture

Our demographic of SMB consultants, at the end of the day, is still keenly focused on Small Business Server (SBS). That is starting to change as folks expand their world with products such as  Microsoft Response Point, the small business telephony solution. But once an SBSer, always an SBSer.

So this next point is very important. The former Worldwide Marketing Director for SBS, Derek Brown is coming to Seattle in a few weeks to lecture on marketing for small businesses! It is like meeting with the senator who sponsored a legislative action in Washington DC. In the real world, people would kill for this type of access.

Speaking of real world, the really cool thing about Derek Brown is that he has escaped Microsoft (having long shaken his bout with Redmonitis when he moved to stunning Thailand) and has started a small business. This is truly a case of talking the talk and walking the walk! Derek is a small business person now, starting up and developing a solution.

Derek is one of us, so walk up to him at SMB Nation 2008 and give him the secret handshake. He will know what it means and possibly buy you a coffee or beeeeeeer……

cheers…harrybbbb

PS – did u know I host an annual conference in Seattle each october for SBSers and SMB consultants? This year we help launch SBS 2008 and Essential Business Server (EBS) between October 4-6!

PS – I am personally a bit frustrated at some new comers on the SBS scene who have taken a critical position on supporting Derek in his new small business endeavor. This folks weren’t even around when Derek was KING! As was said in a presidential debate: “I knew Jack Kennedy and you are no Jack Kennedy.” Let’s just say I know Derek Brown and sir, you are no Derek Brown.
