IMPORTANT: Clearly the above tables have been obtained from Microsoft and reproduced here. There is an important reason for this apparent copy-and-paste operation (and not just to spare the author from typing it out!). When you take the 70-282 examination, it’s essential to recite “chapter and verse” the system requirements AS UNDERSTOOD AND STATED BY MICROSOFT.
You likely have formulated your own opinion as to what makes an
optimal system baseline for running either Standard or Premium
Edition SBS 2003. Right on! However, your own opinion, while
Chapter 5 Installing Windows Small Business Server 2003
reflecting your own personality and professional experience, might not make for a proper answer on the 70-282 exam. Avoid being the test taker who is “too smart” for the exam and views potential correct exam answers with, “I don’t do it that way.” Such an attitude results in retakes!
Real world SBS hardware discussions may be found in the Small Business-related solution accelerators from Microsoft (written by a segment team, which has more editorial freedom than a product team). Visit www.microsoft.com/partner, click Product and Solutions, and then select Solutions for Small and Medium Business.
